Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Alex Ferguson react to Man United chaos and four more moments missed vs Man City

Manchester United have been on the receiving end of yet another thrashing having been battered 6-3 by Manchester City.

Erik ten Hag's side came into the match with confidence after winning their last four league games but they were torn apart by their neighbours on Sunday. It took just eight minutes for the scoring to begin when Phil Foden swept in Bernardo Silva's cross.

Erling Haaland then inevitably got in on the act with two goals before Foden bagged another ahead of the break to make it 4-0. Antony pulled one back for United with a stunning strike before Haaland and Foden went on to complete their hat-tricks. A late Anthony Martial brace helped add some respectability to the score for the visitors but it certainly flattered United.

Pundits soaked

Before yet another humbling got underway there was at least one moment for United fans to smile at. As Pep Guardiola was being interviewed by the Sky Sports analysis team a pitch sprinkler took aim at the desk and soaked the Blues boss as well as Gary Neville, Michah Richards, Roy Keane and host Kelly Cates.

While Guardiola shrugged off the splashing and continued with his point, Neville dived to take cover, though it didn't do him much good.

Why black armbands were worn

Both teams wore black armbands for the game. This was to pay respect to the Indonesian football disaster in which at least 125 people died at a match between Javanese club Arema and rivals Persebaya Surabaya at Kanjuruhan Stadium on Saturday night. A crush was sparked amongst supporters after police responded to a pitch invasion from away fans, whose side lost the game, by firing teargas into the crowd.
