Creetown finish 2023 with convincing win at Wigtown

Creetown finished 2023 on a high with a thumping win over Wigtown.

Doubles from Josh Rennie and Dean Fyfe and a strike from John Lowe gave them a 5-0 win.

Boss Jamie Adams said: “We played OK in spells, but the second half was a lot better, we moved the ball more quickly and made it a lot more difficult for them.

“The second half was good, the first half was OK at best.

“We were missing a lot of players, we had seven or eight boys out, and the most important thing was to win the game.

“The boys that came in did well and we had a few goals and another clean sheet. There were a few positives to take.”

Adams wasn’t too impressed with the first half display but was pleased with how the side responded after the break.

He added: “In the first half, we slowed the play down and weren’t quick enough in possession or quick enough to get the ball back.

“We defended well but middle to front we weren’t good enough. In the second half we were a lot better.

“I told the boys they had to be a lot more hungry to score goals and in the second half they were.

“It was a steady performance and another three points.”
