The Traitors viewers beg 'stop' as they're left 'crying' over major change with Claudia Winkleman

The Traitors viewers were left rushing to comment as they spotted a major change alongside Claudia Winkleman as the hit show returned. It's been more than a year year since the reality show first made its debut with the Strictly Come Dancing presenter as it's host.

During the 2022 series, players were made secret traitors and were tasked with “murdering” faithful contestants, while the latter had to root out the traitors and “banish” them. Five finalists were reduced to the last three, who split the £100,000 prize between them.

And on Wednesday night (January 3), viewers saw a fresh batch of 22 contestants start to battle it out at a Scottish castle as the psychological game show returned for its second series. There are a number of different people taking part in the new season, including a self-proclaimed medium.

During the first episode, after the contestants arrived having travelled up via train, presenter Claudia, 51, told them: “Things are about to get quite dark.” Before she told them to enter the castle, she added, in an ominous voice: “You think you know how this game works, you don’t.”

Later, the contestants sat around the table and Claudia touched the shoulders of those who would become “traitors” – contestants who meet after dark and plot to kill. Afterwards she revealed that the traitors would need to enlist another member to their clan during their first meeting.
