Crash shuts major Cardiff road as heavy emergency service presence at scene - live updates

A crash on the M4 at junction 33 is causing heavy traffic on the A4232 northbound carriageway for motorists trying to get onto the M4. The accident is on the roundabout at junction 33 and has shut the southbound side heading into Cardiff, but it's slowing traffic heading northbound, according to eyewitnesses.

The collision, which reportedly involves lorries and happened shortly before 3pm, is causing congestion of almost an hour and there are tailbacks right back to Culverhouse Cross on the northbound side of the A4232.

A heavy emergency services presence is currently at the scene including a helicopter circling overhead according to eyewitnesses, while delays on the northbound side continue to increase.
