Major Cardiff road reopens after police incident
A police incident shut a major Cardiff road in both directions for around two hours on Friday afternoon. The A48 Western Avenue was closed with a heavy emergency service presence including police, paramedics and firefighters at the scene.
Police taped off the junction at Cardiff Road and two police vehicles at the traffic lights were stopping people turning until the road reopened shortly before 7pm.
Elsewhere, there are several patches of congestion and slow traffic on the M4 this afternoon due to holiday traffic. Travel time is 35 minutes at the Brynglas Tunnels westbound at 6pm on Friday, while there are also tailbacks at Neath and on the M4 eastbound from J30 Cardiff.
