Crash shuts A40 near Carmarthen in both directions

A main road in Carmarthenshire is currently closed due to a crash. The incident happened shortly before 1pm on Thursday afternoon near Whitemill petrol station between the village of Abergwili and Nantgaredig.

The crash is affecting traffic on the edge of Carmarthen and further east towards Llandeilo. Traffic is being diverted at Nantgaerdig Square and at Abergwili.

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the "A40 in Whitemill is blocked in both directions, queueing traffic due to accident near the Esso petrol station. Affecting traffic between Llandeilo and Carmarthen."
