BREAKING: Road CLOSED near Greater Manchester hospital after serious crash - latest updates

Police have closed off a busy road close to a Greater Manchester hospital following a crash. Dialstone Lane, in Stockport, is closed in both directions at the junction with Hurdsfield Road after a collision this morning (August 4).

The junction is close to Stepping Hill Hospital and near to the A6 Buxton Road, where traffic is being diverted. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) reported the road closure at around 11.40am, with bus services also disrupted following the crash.

In a post on Twitter, a spokesperson for TfGM said: "Due to a collision Dialstone Lane, Stockport is currently closed both ways at the junction with Hurdsfield Road. Emergency services are in attendance.

"Divert via A6 Buxton Road. Little Gem Bus 375 service will be affected check before travel. Plan ahead."

Further details about the nature of the collision are yet to be confirmed. Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service have all been approached for comment.
