Crash closes two lanes on M4 Severn Bridge
A crash closed two lanes of the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge this morning. Congestion built on the bridge as a result of the incident which happened at around 9:30am this morning, Tuesday, January 16. The crash happened Westbound and two lanes were closed between J22 M49 to J23 M48.
Traffic Wales said that traffic officers were on scene. The alert on INRIX traffic monitoring system read: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M4 Prince of Wales Bridge Westbound from J22 M49 to J23 M48. Lanes two and three (of three) are closed".
.Traffic was mainly contained to the bridge with no major disruption on either side. Gwent Police confirmed they attended the crash which involved one vehicle. A spokesperson for the force said "We received a report of a road traffic collision involving one car on the M4 Prince of Wales bridge at around 9am on Tuesday 16 January.
"Officers attended to assist with traffic management and no injuries were reported. One lane is currently closed to allow for recovery of the car and motorists are advised to take care due to debris on the road surface."
