LIVE: M62 traffic updates as crash closes three lanes

Drivers are facing long delays on a Greater Manchester motorway this afternoon following a collision.

Traffic is building on the M62 Westbound at J20 A627(M) J3 Rochdale following the crash at around 2:30pm on Friday (January 26). One lane was closed, but all lanes have since been re-opened.

There is congestion to just before J22 (Rishworth Moor), with travel time of around 30 minutes, according to online traffic reporting system Inrix.

Delays on M62 Westbound at J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow). Travel time is around 20 minutes. Not helped by Friday traffic and earlier accident which since cleared.

Queueing traffic due to earlier broken down vehicle on M6 Northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford). Camera shows lane one (of four) has reopened.

Traffic service Inrix has issued this update: "Earlier accident on M62 Westbound at J20 A627(M) J3 Rochdale. Previous congestion to just before J22 (Rishworth Moor)."

Traffic is moving slowly between J22 and J21, maps from National Highways show. Travel time remains at around 30 minutes.

Congestion on the M62 this afternoon is now stretching to just before J22 (Rishworth Moor).
