Crash causes M4 tailbacks between Newport and Cardiff

All lanes have now reopened following a collision on the M4 between Cardiff and Newport. Traffic is still queuing in the area as a result of the earlier incident which happened just before 6am.

Two lanes were closed on the westbound carriageway of the M4 on Monday morning. According to traffic monitoring system Inrix, three cars were involved in the incident between junction 29 and junction 30, A4232 link road.

Traffic cameras show traffic queuing between junction 29 and junction 30. The Welsh Ambulance Service were called about the incident at 5.43am but confirmed no crews attended.
