Crash between HGV and car causes queues on M4 near Brynglas Tunnels

There were long queues on the M4 near Newport this morning after a rush hour crash between a HGV and a car. One lane was blocked on the M4 eastbound after the crash which happened at around 7.20am on Wednesday, October 26.

The crash happened between J25A A4042 (Newport / Cwmbran ) to J25 B4596 ( Caerleon ). Traffic monitoring system Inrix reported there were two vehicles involved, this has yet to be confirmed by emergency services.

Queues in the area trailed back to J29 at one point with travel time in the area around 30 minutes. One lane (of three) was briefly partially blocked.

A Gwent Police spokesperson confirmed: "We were notified about a road traffic collision involving a HGV and another car at about 6.50am this morning on the M4 towards junction 25 no-one was injured."
