'Could have got himself sent off' - Alasdair Gold spotted what this Spurs star did yesterday

Aladsair Gold has slammed Hugo Lloris over his display in Spurs’ 4-0 triumph over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Lilywhites ran out easy winners over the struggling relegation candidates, and while it was all smiles in the end for Antonio Conte’s side, Lloris’ performance in between the sticks certainly raised some eyebrows – particularly for one key moment in the match.

Writing in his post-match player ratings, Gold gave him the worst score of a five, and said: “Made a brave save low down on 37 minutes from a low cross. However, he had a massive let on with just over 15 minutes to go. He reached a loose ball as Leeds broke but hit it straight against Dallas, then tried to trip him up with his hand midway in his own half, but fortunately missed and Davies rescued him by blocking the shot in the box.

“Could have got himself sent off at 3-0 up for no reason. Didn’t have much to do but loses two points for the double mistake up the pitch.”

Lloris’ performances recently have been very much hit and miss, even within a game. Against Manchester City last week, the Frenchman spilled a cross right into the path of Ilkay Gundogan to fire home, but then came up clutch with a stunning save to deny the same man late on in the game.

With the Premier League season coming well into the business end of it, Spurs desperately need their club captain to be firing on all cylinders.
