Coronation Street star speaks out and says 'not my Roy' after shock arrest as fans start 'campaign'

Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has had his say on the latest twist in Lauren Bolton's disappearance storyline as Roy Cropper was arrested. As fans of the ITV soap well know, the young actor's character Sam Blakeman is close to the cafe owner thanks to their shared love of chess.

And so Jude was just as riled up to see the beloved character, played by Corrie icon David Neilson, being arrested and questioned over Lauren's disappearance and possible death during the latest trip to the cobbles on Friday night (March 15).

Lauren, played by Cait Fitton, hasn't been seen for weeks as she seemingly abruptly left the cobbles after mentioning leaving to Roy when he sacked her from her job at the cafe after she admitted to stealing from Bethany Platt's bag while on shift. Later, a mystery visitor appeared at her door on Valentine's Day and concern was written all over her face as her heart appeared to sink over who was standing in front of her.

But viewers were never told who the visitor was. Later, Lauren's love interest Bobby found her flat unlocked, with Lauren nowhere to be seen and has been doing his own investigation into her disappearance after he filed a report with the police.

DS Swain and her team are now heavily involved in the case after blood was found on the curtain of her old flat with them now believing she could be dead.
