Coronation Street star 'confirms' exit after months of rumours
Coronation Street star Alex Bain has seemingly confirmed his exit following rumours he was sent to quit the cobbles. The actor is known for playing Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, the son of Peter and the late Lucy Barlow.
Alex first appeared on the cobbles as Simon aged seven and over the years he has been involved in some big storylines, including drug dealing, and his mother Lucy's death. And in upcoming episodes, Simon and Sam Blakeman, played by Jude Riordan, are reportedly set to be involved in a car crash after they were seen filming the dramatic scenes before Christmas.
However, it was reported over Christmas that Alex was set to leave the role after 15 years. The soap star hadn't confirmed the news and still shared social media posts showing him heading to work at the Salford-based set.

But Alex's latest post seemingly confirmed he'll soon be waving goodbye to Weatherfield. The 20-year-old posted a photo to his Instagram Story showing himself in the mirror of his dressing room.
Alongside it he wrote: "Well my day is done! Nice and short day today! I'm gonna miss this little space some dearly when I go!" He added: "So glad I've got some shooting days left! So thankful!"
It comes after Alex took part in a Q&A on Instagram at the start of the year. He shared a video of himself in his dressing room at the Salford-based set as he imported his fans and followers to ask him questions about his 'day to day life'. He also typed alongside the question box: "Adore my hob I do! So glad to be back @coronationstreet for my first day shooting of 2024."
