Coronation Street star Antony Cotton on wanting to be remembered for more than just ITV soap role
Coronation Street star Antony Cotton has opened up about wanting to be remembered for more than just his role in the show. The actor is probably best known for playing Sean Tully in the ITV soap.
Sean first appeared in Weatherfield back in 2003 while searching for somewhere to live and it is then that he found a home at No.11 with Eileen Grimshaw. And the rest, as they say, is history.
But as well as his work on-screen, the 48-year-old has been involved with the military community since 2008 and was named as the first celebrity ambassador for military charity the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

He is also a patron of Help For Heroes and was made the SSAFA’s 2022 ambassador for the defence inclusivity category and he was made an MBE in the later Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to British Army personnel and veterans in June 2022.
Antony, whose official association with the charities began following the return of a close friend from Afghanistan, who needed support, has now shared how he hopes it's not just his Corrie role he's remembered for in years to come but also his work with and for the Armed Forces.
Speaking to Kathy Burke on the latest episode of her Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake podcast, the host said: "Let's just talk about the army for a minute. Because you're very involved with the army, in an unofficial capacity..."
He explained: "An unofficial official capacity. I do en masse, which is I go into army camps and I talk about mental health and I get a conversation going. Ultimately, that's what that is.
