Coronation Street fans spot Joel Deering blunder as they point out issue with Lauren Bolton 'plan'

Coronation Street fans were quick to spot a continuity blunder when it came to Joel Deering during the latest trip to Weatherfield as the panicked solicitor was once again seen trying to get to Lauren Bolton before anyone else.

Joel, played by Calum Lill, was clearly rattled during scenes in the ITV soap on Wednesday night (July 17) when his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey revealed she and Bethany Platt had managed to track down the teen, played by Cait Fitton, after it was confirmed she was alive.

Lauren was presumed dead after she went missing back in February after being sacked from her job at Roy's Rolls before she was later visited by a mystery person, who viewers never got to see.

As the last known person to see her, and the fact he misguidedly cleaned her flat before blood was found on the curtains, it was Roy Cropper who was accused of being responsible and later spent time behind bars, charged with Lauren's murder.

However, in May it was confirmed that it was Joel Deering who was behind her disappearance and a shocking flashback clip revealed the solicitor as being Lauren's secret 'boyfriend' and saw him brutally attack her with a chair leg.

Then in recent scenes, it was revealed Lauren has amazingly survived the brutal bashing and confirmation she was alive came when she appeared at Roy Cropper's bedside after he suffered a heart attack in his beloved café. But when Lauren tried to make her exit without anyone seeing her, Joel accosted her and dragged her into a family room.
