Coronation Street fans fear DS Lisa Swain 'death' foreshadowing as they 'start petition'

Coronation Street fans have feared DS Lisa Swain's death has been foreshadowed in fresh scenes. Actress Vicky Myers has only recently been made a full-time cast member in the role having first appeared on the cobbles a few years ago.

The detective sergeant was first seen in the ITV soap back in 2021 when she led the police investigation into the assaults on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin which led to the latter's death.

But more recently, Swain has been seen trying to get to the bottom of Lauren Bolton's disappearance - and presumed death - before her shock return to Weatherfield after five months in July.

During the latest trip to the cobbles on Monday night (August 5), Swain inadvertently learned that Lauren had given birth. The teen welcomed her son prematurely into the world after Joel Deering, who was really behind her disappearance after leaving her for dead, drugged her in a bid to force a miscarriage.

During the episode, a distraught Lauren watched on as her baby boy lay in an incubator, willing for him to get better. She was supported by Max and Bobby Crawford but as soon as they had gone, Joel arrived and was able to meet his newborn son.

He quickly started manipulating Lauren into deleting an email she had scheduled to send to Swain, exposing the solicitor for who he really is. He brought her a new phone and attempted to talk her around, which seemed to work as she let them see their son before going on the phone and telling him the email had been deleted.
