Coronation Street fans say the same thing as Simon reacts to Peter Barlow's exit
Coronation Street fans shared their frustration as Simon Barlow reacted to his dad Peter’s departure from Weatherfield. On Boxing Day Peter Barlow left the cobbles to pursue his travel plans, after Carla gave him a boarding pass for Christmas Day.
In the emotional episode Peter, played for Chris Garscoyne, said goodbye to various family members, including father Ken Barlow and sister Tracey. But his son Simon was nowhere to be seen.
Wednesday night’s episode of the ITV soap kicked off with Simon arriving back at the flat after he had ‘been out with mates’. Carla had a go at him, saying she had “been tearing my hair out.” Simon said that he had lost his phone while Carla gestured to him and said: “Look at the state of you” to which Simon replied: “It’s Christmas Ok, let’s not be a killjoy.”

Later as Simon checked his phone several messages beeped and he asked: “Is it true? Dad’s gone?” When he was going through the messages, Carla said: “He was depserate to speak to you” but Simon interrupted: “Not too desperate to change his plans!”
Simon appeared visibly upset when Carla explained that she had got him the ticket. They argued and told Carla to leave him alone as he stormed out of the flat slamming the door.
Coronation Street fans took to X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, to complain about Simon’s behaviour. @WilliamWillh wrote: “Well we're in for a few months of Grumpy Simon now!” while @nae_segye added: “How old is Simon again? So irritating.”
