Coronation Street fans concerned for 'poor' Sam Blakeman after injury clue

Coronation Street fans have been left concerned for Sam Blakeman after spotting a hidden injury clue after he was involved in a car accident. The youngster has been in his fair share of scrapes over the years and this time it was while in the hands of Simon Barlow.

During Sunday night's (February 11) trip to the cobbles, viewers saw Simon's excessive drinking comes to haunt him when he crashes a car and does a runner to avoid being caught for drink-driving. Following his dad Peter Barlow exit from Weatherfield without saying goodbye, the character has been struggling to cope.

After a heavy night drinking at Carla Connor's flat with her nephew Bobby, Simon woke up from his hazy slumber but as his new pal tidied up, Simon surreptitiously took a swig of vodka.

Once back at home, Nick Tilsely tells Toyah Habeeb he needed her help shopping and asked Simon to drive Sam to his chess competition. He reluctantly agreed but soon after they set off, Simon lost control of the car on a bend and crashed into a road sign.

In a panic, Simon ordered Sam out of the car and told him he needed to run, with him knowing that he'd been drinking and could be done for drink-driving.

Later, after Sam told Leanne that 'no one was hurt', Simon was forced to admit that he pranged her car but when she insisted they report it to the police, Simon refused and admitted he was over the drink-drive limit leaving Leanne horrified.

But later, while at the cafe with Roy, Sam was seen refusing a milkshake, saying he felt sick and Corrie fans were soon flocking to social media to share their concerns for the youngster.
