Coronation Street's Adam Hussain follows in co-stars' footsteps with new role away from soap

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain is following in the footsteps of one of his co-stars by starting a new role away from the cobbles. The actor is best known for playing Aadi Alahan in the ITV soap, the son of Weatherfield icon Dev Alahan.

Back in 2021, Adam took over the role of Aadi after Zennon Ditchett, who played Aadi since 2009, made the decision to leave the show to focus on his A Level studies at the end of 2020. On-screen twin Asha, meanwhile, has been played by Tanisha Gorey since the actress was just six years old.

But away from being on screen, Adam has revealed he's set to go behind the mic with the launch of a new podcast, titled Going for a Take, which he's hosting with fellow actors, Ben Stevenson and Matthew Khan.

The big reveal on Instagram said: "Going for a take podcast. The Film and TV podcast where 3 actors + a special guest discuss their takes on the latest films hitting your cinema screens.

"In this biweekly podcast we chat with those working both in front of and behind the camera, diving deeper into their favourite films, their inspirations, and what it's really like being on set. Each episode will be shown on YouTube and the audio will be streamed on Spotify. First episode drops this Friday."

Adam's actor pals as well as his friends, fans and followers were quick to show their support. Corrie's Luca Toolan, who plays Mason Radcliffe in the ITV soap, shared a series of raised hand emojis as did Waterloo Road star Hattie Dynevor, who is also the daughter of Corrie icon Sally Dynevor.. Liam Scholes, who also stars in Waterloo
