Connor Goldson is 'lucky' Rangers boy with raging Barry Robson told unanimously there is such a thing as 'silent' VAR

Connor Goldson got away with one against Aberdeen but Barry Robson has been told his VAR rage is somewhat misplaced.

The fuming Aberdeen boss stormed over to referee Nick Walsh after the full time whistle after he watched his side lose a late penalty via VAR review, which judged that Connor Goldson's shirt was pulled by Stefan Gartenmann. James Tavernier made no mistake in drawing the game level, but Robson took a major aim at the technology and the perceived decisions Rangers get from it.

The Dons gaffer also reckoned VAR officials missed a flashpoint from Goldson after the fact. A collision with Dante Polvara on the edge of the area saw the Rangers defender booked by Walsh andRobson was less than impressed at full-time and asked where the game is going if decisions are to be scrutinised to the maximum. But pundits Michael Stewart and Kenny Miller reckon the Dons boss was flogging a dead horse with the Polvara incident, yet the former Hearts and Hibs midfielder did concede Goldson was 'lucky' not to have faced a further review.

Stewart told Sportscene: "When you watch it in real time, you have to look at it. We can slow this down, and it looks for me worse and it really is a borderline one. Had it been a red card, I don't think there could have been much case to appeal it. But certainly when you watch in real time, for me, it just about constitutes a yellow card rather than a red.

"But he is running the risk, he (Goldson) can complain about Polvara going down, but he went down a lot easier on a small pull on the jersey and he's lucky to have got away with it. Had they looked at it, the way that VAR does when they slow things down, it looks a lot worse but I do think the yellow card is probably just about the right call.
