Coleen Rooney tells why she's stayed by husband Wayne's side after speaking out on Wagatha drama

Coleen Rooney has opened up about staying by her husband Wayne's side throughout difficulties in their marriage as she also addressed why she has spoken out on the 'Wagatha Christie' drama.

The 37-year-old has recently been on the promo trail following the release of her Disney+ documentary, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha, followed by her new autobiography, titled My Account. In the TV series, Coleen tells her side of her sting on Rebekah Vardy and subsequent libel trial.

Meanwhile, her book is said to be her own candid account "of a life lived on social media and under the scrutiny of the public eye." And despite some criticising Coleen for speaking out about her libel trial more than a year on despite saying she wanted to 'draw a line' under it, the mum-of-four has explained why now was the time to put pen to paper.

"I want to explain who I really am and why I've done things throughout my life and I feel like now's the time to do that," she told Hello Magazine. "I haven't changed, I'm still the same person. I wanted to publish my book hand-in-hand with my Disney+ documentary and then draw a line under it."

She added: "After that, if people ask me about anything, I can just say 'watch the documentary or read the book'. It's me, setting the record straight and telling my truth. And then I will move on."

In the book, she also addresses some of the more difficult times in her relationship with former Manchester United and England footballer Wayne, whom she started dating aged just 16. This includes opened up about times Wayne had been linked to other women.
