Claressa Shields rates Savannah Marshall's boxing out of 10

Claressa Shields has delivered an honest verdict on upcoming opponent Savannah Marshall.

The two boxers are set to compete for the undisputed middleweight championship next Friday at the O2 Arena in London.

They have provided quality entertainment in the lead up to their title fight but Shields has stepped away from their war of words to pay respect to her rival.

“People think that I rate her [Marshall] as like a zero, you know, we talk about one to ten. But I give her about a seven or eight,” the self-proclaimed Gwoat told Sky Sports.

“I think she’s a good fighter, I think she’s overcome a lot. She’s a champion, you know?

“She’s not a champion like myself — one belt compared to 12 and three divisions compared to one — but I think anybody who can get a belt is a decent fighter.”

The blockbuster clash will be one of the biggest fight cards in women’s boxing history and the two stars have added to the excitement with their long-standing rivalry.

Shields will throw down her WBC, WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine middleweight belts as she looks to beat her rival in her home country.

The feud between Shields and Marshall has been burning for a whole decade, ever since The Silent Assassin beat the US fighter at the 2012 Olympics.

Shields is adamant her defeat in London was a one-time occurrence and fully backs herself to strip Marshall of her WBO title when they return to fight in the capital next week.

The 27-year-old recently accused Marshall of faking an arm injury after their fight scheduled for earlier this year was postponed.
