Christian Eriksen’s first words after completing fairytale return to the Premier League

Christian Eriksen ‘can’t wait to get started’ after completing a fairytale return to the Premier League with Brentford.

The former Tottenham midfielder has signed a six-month deal in west London but will be offered new terms if he impresses manager Thomas Frank.

Eriksen has not played since suffering a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland last summer. In harrowing scenes, he was brought back to life by medical staff in front of his team-mates and fans.

‘Hi everyone it’s Christian Eriksen,’ he said in a video uploaded to social media.

‘I’m happy to announce that I have signed for Brentford Football Club. I can’t wait to get started and hopefully I’ll see you all very soon.’

‘Christian was 16 at the time and has become one of the best midfield players to appear in the Premier League. He has also won trophies all over Europe and become the star of the Danish national team.

‘We have taken an unbelievable opportunity to bring a World
