Christian Eriksen reveals shocking dressing room chat after Manchester United draw with FC Twente

Christian Eriksen believes FC Twente 'wanted it more' than Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Erik ten Hag named a strong team to face Twente in the Europa League and only three changes were made from the line-up that started against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Marcus Rashford looked sharp on the left from the first whistle, but it was Eriksen who fired United ahead with a brilliant strike into the top corner in the 35th minute.

Eriksen was starting his fourth successive game and his goal was unstoppable. Everything has seemed to go right for the midfielder in the last few weeks, but he went from hero to villain in the second half when losing the ball that led to Sam Lammers' equaliser for Twente.

Although Ten Hag responded by making multiple changes, United couldn't find another breakthrough and Harry Maguire's header in added time was the last chance of the game.

Twente's players celebrated like they'd won the match after full-time and the draw almost felt like a defeat for United considering they looked comfortable and in control when 1-0 up.

Eriksen emerged to speak to TNT Sports and made a surprising admission when he revealed that he thought Twente's players wanted a result more than United on the pitch.

"We wanted more, but in the end, it was far from good enough and we said in the changing room that it looked like they wanted it more and that can't be right," Eriksen said.

"I think personally, you score a goal and think you're a matchwinner, but obviously it's gone the other way. Everyone is looking at themselves. Everyone is a professional footballer.
