Chris Scott savours the "great feeling" of helping Jeanfield Swifts to late victory over Tynecastle

Delighted Chris Scott admits he will always take the booking if it means celebrating a last-minute winner wildly.

The Jeanfield Swifts star netted twice – the second in stoppage time – to defeat Tynecastle 4-2 in the East of Scotland League’s Premier Division last Saturday.

He received a caution for his last-gasp celebrations after bagging the third of the afternoon before youngster Scott Logan added gloss to the scoreline moments later.

Scott, when quizzed whether he was happy to take the booking at the end, smiled: “100 per cent.”

He added: “A couple of the boys said it is a £2 fine for the yellow card.

“But I’m sure I could manage to pay £2 each week if it meant scoring a last-minute winner, taking off your top and belly flopping!

“It was a great feeling to be honest. I don’t score too many goals, I usually set them up, so it was nice to score the winner and help the team get the three points.”

Chris Dodd had opened the scoring for Swifts at the Riverside before Tynecastle, managed by Charlie King, levelled.

The Perth side were then reduced to 10 men when Ewan Moyes received a second caution, allowing the capital guests to take advantage before the break.

But determined Swifts battled back with Scott squaring things up at 2-2 before his heroics continued in the 92nd minute. Logan made sure of the points even deeper into injury time as Tynecastle pushed forward.

“I think, when we are on it, we are a very good team and have a great character,” Scott told the Perthshire Advertiser.

“But when we don’t work hard or get the ball down and play, then we can be complacent.
