Chelsea will 'definitely be keen' on luring £300k-a-week star to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea will “definitely be keen” on signing Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling this summer, says Alex Crook.

However, the talkSPORT reporter thinks the England international is more likely to end up at Real Madrid.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are interested in signing Sterling this transfer window.

The 27-year-old has just one year remaining on his £300,000-a-week contract and is thought to be weighing up his future.

Sterling, though, is not the only City player who could be arriving at Stamford Bridge, with the Evening Standard also reporting that the Blues have been offered his team-mate Gabriel Jesus.

While defence will no doubt be a priority for Thomas Tuchel following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, attack also seems to be high on the German’s agenda after he made it clear at the end of the season that he is not happy with thenumbershis current crop of forwards are producing.

Crook can see Chelsea going after Sterling this summer; however, he thinks the England star may opt for a new challenge abroad.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the talkSPORT reporter said: “Sterling’s an interesting one because I think that they will definitely be keen on him. Personally, I think he is more likely to end up abroad. Real Madrid are still looking to strengthen up top having missed out on a couple of targets.

“I could see Raheem Sterling at the Bernabeu. I think he’s the type of player that would excite them, and I think he’d be excited by that challenge.”

If it did come down to a choice between Chelsea and Real Madrid, Blues supporters could not blame him for picking the latter.
