Chelsea: 'Sources' issue big Broja update at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are yet to decide whether they want to release Armando Broja on a ‘permanent basis or on a loan’, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The 20-year-old is the subject of intense interest from West Ham United at this moment in time, who have submitted a sizeable offer to the Blues as they look to strengthen their forward line.

Sheth’s employers revealed that the Hammers made an opening offer of £30 million for Broja last week, with £25m of that fee to be paid up-front.

However, it seems that figure fell short of Chelsea’s valuation of their Albania international as The Guardian have reported that West Ham have submitted an improved bid.

It’s claimed that David Moyes’ charges are now willing to pay £30m plus add-ons and are close to agreeing personal term with Broja.

The youngster enjoyed a successful season-long loan spell with Southampton throughout 2021/22, and the south coast club and Everton are also eager to snap him up.

Broja has supposedly informed Chelsea of his desire to move away from Stamford Bridge permanently rather than on a temporary basis again, providing hope that West Ham can get this deal over the line.

Sheth has informed GiveMeSport that despite West Ham and Broja both favouring a long-term transfer, Chelsea are yet to decide whether to sanction their academy graduate’s sale.

He told GMS: “West Ham, it should be said here, are looking for a permanent deal, hence that big offer.

“Whereas Chelsea, the noises that we’re hearing from a few sources is that they’ve not decided whether they want to release Broja on a permanent basis or on a loan.

“Potentially, if they could get him released on a loan, and he performs well, then he could keep his value up. But I think West Ham will still be
