Chelsea: £30m star now facing 'crucial few days' at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea could make a decision on Armando Broja’s future soon, believes transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge since the window opened, and if he does not feature in the Blues’ last pre-season game against Udinese tonight, Jones expects him to depart west London.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that the club have received offers for Broja, but the German is confident that the striker will remain at the Premier League outfit this summer.

“I don’t expect him to leave,” Tuchel said earlier this month. “We are aware of interest and offers, which just tells us there is a lot of potential, and the owners and me will take this decision together in the end, also with the player.”

The Blues boss later went on to add: “Let’s see how this goes but I’m pretty calm about it because we know the situation and we have a contract.”

Amid interest from West Ham before they signed Gianluca Scamacca, the MailOnline suggested that Broja would cost £30m.

Jones believes Tuchel’s team selection for the Udinese friendly will show whether Broja is in the 48-year-old’s plans or not.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “It’d be very interesting to see in Chelsea’s friendly on Friday how many minutes Broja actually gets because Tuchel needs to really figure out over the next few days what his starting line-up is going to look like for the new season.

“I think we’ll get an idea if Broja figures. If Broja doesn’t play in that friendly on Friday, then I think it opens the door for him to make that transfer.”

Looking at their squad, it would be the correct call. Romelu Lukaku is no longer at the club, while Timo Werner has been linked with a return to RB Leipzig.
