Chelsea now have Serie A duo 'on the radar' at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have Inter Milan duo Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries both on their radar, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The west London club are searching for alternatives to Jules Kounde, who has now joined Barcelona, and it appears that Skriniar and Dumfries are two names that they are considering.

The Evening Standard recently reported that Chelsea are eyeing Dumfries after failing to meet Sevilla’s asking price for Kounde.

The same outlet also stated at the time that Barcelona were in the process of hijacking the Blues’ deal for the Frenchman anyway, a mission they have now completed.

With Dumfries being a full-back, he is a different player to Kounde. However, his addition could allow Thomas Tuchel to move Reece James into central defence, while the 26-year-old takes up his current right wing-back spot.

Chelsea also have a more natural centre-half on their shortlist in Skriniar, though. As per the Evening Standard, they have looked at the Slovakian, who could cost £59m.

Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT that Skriniar and Dumfries are indeed two players Chelsea are currently considering after the whole Kounde fiasco.

Speaking to GMS, the CBS reporter said: “Denzel Dumfries and Milan Skriniar are on Chelsea’s radar, and Inter, I still think, are going to have to sell somebody out of necessity between now and when the window shuts.”

If it is a choice between the two, the former, who has been described as an “absolute beast” by Serie A expert David Amoyal, definitely makes more sense. While they have already brought in Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, Chelsea still need to sign another central defender after losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
