Chelsea: Nine players now want Stamford Bridge exit
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has found himself in a shambolic situation as ‘nine players want to leave’ Stamford Bridge, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
Although the German has been allowed to spend big in the summer window, having brought in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, he could oversee a mass exodus in west London.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is eager to end his decade-long spell at Stamford Bridge and join Barcelona.
The report suggests the 32-year-old – who has made close to 480 appearances for the Blues – has asked to seal his exit, but Tuchel is not sure he is willing to give Azpilicueta ‘what he wants’.
Barcelona are also interested in luring Marcos Alonso to the Nou Camp, although Chelsea have blocked the move in retaliation to the La Liga giants hijacking Jules Kounde’s switch to west London.
According to Spanish sources, via the Daily Express, left-back Alonso could submit a transfer request in order to force his way out of the club.
Timo Werner is another star seeking a departure before the summer transfer window slams shut on September 1, while Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic are also understood to be open to a transfer.
Jones understands that as many as nine Chelsea players are hoping to move onto pastures new this summer.
The transfer insider believes Tuchel is eager to find a quick solution as unhappiness within the camp could have an impact on how the Blues start the upcoming campaign.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “There are currently nine players that want to leave Chelsea before deadline day.
“It’s far from ideal, a shambles to be honest, and it’s impacting the chances of starting the season well. Tuchel wants these situations sorted – they can’t
