Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Julio Jones a 'luxury' addition claims Ryan Clark
ESPN analyst Ryan Clark doesn’t believe that Julio Jones will be more than a ‘luxury’ addition to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added another weapon to their ever-impressive attacking arsenal recently as they added 2x First-team All-Pro, 7x Pro Bowler wide receiver Julio Jones into the mix following his spell as a free agent following his spell with the Tennessee Titans.
Jones is of course more famous for his playing days with the Bucs’ division rival the Atlanta Falcons where he became one of the best wide receivers in the game, racking up just shy of 13,000 receiving yards and 60 touchdowns in the regular season.
However injuries meant that the Falcons decided to move on from their all-time leader in yards and receptions after the 2020 season and saw him move north to join the Titans where injuries once again played their part as he was restricted to just ten games that saw him haul in just 434 yards and 1 touchdown.
He entered the free agency market this summer where injuries may have played their part in why he was left on the shelf for so long. Those days are behind him now as he joins the Buccaneers to join their talented receiver group that includes the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, as well as tight ends Cameron Brate and Kyle Rudolph.
It’s that list of names however that is causing ESPN analyst Ryan Clark wanted to talk about in relation to the signing.
Speaking on ESPN’s Get Up, Clark broke down the kind of role that Jones could expect to play this season, stating that he won’t be a key member of the Buccanneers’ offense, and that we should expect him to be no more than a number three receiver that will be seen as a surplus to what they already have rather than the main man like
