Chelsea having negotiations with £60m star 'in next 24 hours' at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are hoping to find a breakthrough in negotiations for Everton winger Anthony Gordon in the next 24 hours, according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

The west London club have already had two bids rejected for the 21-year-old, but it does not look like they have given up on signing him just yet.

Journalist Alan Nixon recently revealed that Everton have offered Gordon a massive new deal as they look to keep hold of their academy graduate.

The above comes after Chelsea made two unsuccessful bids for Gordon, with BBC Sport claiming that the most recent one was worth around £45m.

However, that does not seem to be the end of things, as one report from Sky Sports says that the Blues are prepared to go up to £60m to get their man.

Whether that will be enough at this late stage of the transfer window, though, remains to be seen.

Romano has told GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea are still working on a deal to sign Gordon but Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains their priority.

Speaking to GMS, the Italian journalist said: “At the moment, I think the reality is Pierre Aubameyang is the priority and then it’s to keep negotiating with Everton in the next 24 hours and see if they can change the situation with Gordon. But the easiest one is Pierre Aubameyang, for sure.”

Aubameyang. It is quite clear that this Chelsea squad is lacking a goalscorer who can bring them into title contention.
