Chatham Town Women play AFC Portchester in the Women’s Combined Counties Cup final at Cobham FC in Surrey

Chatham Town Women complete their season tonight and are playing for more silverware.

A month on from the end of their league campaign, Chats are finally finishing their campaign, and they hope to be lifting another trophy with a game against AFC Portchester in the final of the Women’s Combined Counties Cup.

Cobham FC in Surrey if the venue of the final and Chats boss Keith Boanas knows it’s not worth concentrating too much about who the opposition might have in their ranks, as with his own team, some players will no longer be available.

Looking ahead to the final, he said: “I have watched them, they look fairly physical, and strong, but we don't know what they've got, who they've still got available, if they've got a full squad available or anything else, so it's more about just going and doing what we can do well. I think. That's the easiest way to approach it.

“We've got to go out and play our way. The thing that we're good at now is adapting. We adapted in the game against Sutton [in the quarter-finals] when it was 0-0, and we got our rewards.

“If we play one way, we're quite good at adapting to another way if it's not working. It's just making sure we're ready to do what needs to be done.”

Chatham beat Sutton 5-1 in the quarter-finals on May 12 - the last time they played. Last week’s semi-final against Wycombe Wanderers was cancelled as the opposition forfeited the match.
