Sittingbourne manager Reece Prestedge is excited by the potential of striker Kieron Agbebi and pleased to get Luke Woodward on board for next season

Sittingbourne manager Reece Prestedge hopes to unlock the big potential in his recent attacking addition.

Former Gillingham professional Kieron Agbebi has agreed to join the Brickies from Dover Athletic for the 2026/27 season in Isthmian South East.

Prestedge hopes Agbebi’s best years are still ahead of him and is backing the young forward to fulfil his promise at Woodstock.

“He’s 20 and if you look at his rap sheet, the Gillingham thing maybe didn’t work out, but obviously there must have been something there,” said Prestedge.

“Last year, I saw him in a few games. Maybe he hasn’t got the numbers you would like, but I think it’s also about trusting these young ones coming through.

“It’s about working with them and helping them on their journey at the same time.

“A couple of times I saw him play last year, he had attributes that I liked, and he worked hard enough.

“When it came about, I spoke to [Dover assistant boss Mike Sandmann], and he’s just had a bit of a tough road with injuries and stuff.

“But he’s got bags of potential, and if someone’s got potential, you want to work with them.

“At the end of the day, that’s what we’re in it for. If we can coach and develop players and move them on to play higher and stuff like that, that’s brilliant because that’s what it should be about as well.”

Agbebi’s arrival is another piece of the puzzle as Sittingbourne shape their squad for the new campaign.

The Brickies have also secured the services of midfielder Luke Woodward for another season, with Prestedge highlighting the importance of keeping influential characters around the dressing room.
