Chatham Town Women beat Three Bridges 13-0 to clinch a place in the final of the Isthmian League Cup – Amy Russ scores a seven-minute hat-trick, Lucy Jones plays in goal, Amelia Woodgate bags hat-trick and debutant Anjie Arije nets twice
Chatham Town Women were forced to field an outfield player in goal again for their midweek semi-final cup clash - but were 13-0 winners.
With regular keeper Simone Eligon injured and back-up goalie Abby Baravik suspended, defender Lucy Jones volunteered to keep goal for the Isthmian League Cup semi-final clash - and thankfully for her, she didn’t have a lot to do.

The manager said:”After her heroics at Cambridge there was never a doubt in trusting her. She has great character, a club player, you can’t buy that - I love her to bits for what she has done.
“Lucy stepped in again and the rest of the team felt safe with her there – and that’s what happened at Cambridge.”
Chatham were playing lower-league Three Bridges in the semi-final match at the Bauvill Stadium, with Bowers & Pitsea awaiting the winners in the final.
With their league game postponed on the Sunday, Boanas fielded a strong side for the match, keen to maintain their good form in cup competitions this season.
It was a professional display from Chats against their young opponents, who kept going despite facing ruthless hosts.
Boanas said: “Hopefully they go away not overly upset, disappointed for sure, but they have done well to get here [into the semi-final] - they are doing okay in their league and are a decent young side.”
Cup-holders Chatham started the rout by opening the scoring in the first minute - an own-goal putting them ahead.
