Chatham Town beat Potters Bar Town as Isthmian Premier Division play-off spot is secured – Kevin Hake’s men play Lewes at the Bauvill Stadium this Saturday before semi-final match against Aveley or Billericay Town
Chatham Town are hoping for a rousing send-off ahead of the Isthmian Premier Division play-offs.
The Chats host Lewes this Saturday in their final home game of the regular season, with their play-off place already secured.
A commanding 6-0 win at Potters Bar Town last Saturday sealed a top-five finish and a midweek semi-final match to look forward to away from home.
Manager Kevin Hake is hoping a big turnout can help give his side the perfect lift heading into the most important week of their campaign.
He said: “We want a big atmosphere and a strong home support behind the players.
“The backing we’ve had this season has been outstanding, and we’d love to see a big crowd there again because it can make a real difference.”
Chatham face an away semi-final in Essex next Wednesday against either Aveley or Billericay Town, making Saturday’s clash the perfect opportunity to build confidence.
Hake believes last weekend’s emphatic victory showed his side are hitting form at the right time.
“To win 6–0 at this stage of the season shows the focus, discipline and mentality of the group,” he said.
“From the first whistle we were organised, we played with real intent and when the opportunities came, we were clinical.
“What pleased me most was the professionalism of the performance. We respected the game, did the basics properly and never let our standards drop.”
While the play-off place is already secured, Hake is determined there will be no let-up against Lewes.
“With other results going our way, it means we’ve secured a place in the play-offs, which is a reward for the consistency and hard work that’s gone in over the course of the season,” he said.
