Charlie Adam bypasses Kyogo Celtic commitment to turn transfer conjurer in pitch to replace EPL legend

Charlie Adam insists English clubs will have to pay top dollar to land Celtic star Kyogo - but is adamant he has what it takes to star in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old - who netted in Sunday's Scottish Premiership win over Aberdeen - recently signed a new four-year deal at Parkhead to keep him at the club until at least 2027. But despite that, ex Rangers man Adam believes there could still be in interest in the Japan star. Adam starred in the English Premier League with Blackpool, Liverpool and Stoke City so he knows what it takes.

Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur would be the obvious potential suitors given the Aussie signed him for Celtic but Adam reckons Wolves could be interested in Kyogo or even Leicester City as a an ideal long term replacement for Jamie Vardy. Vardy. Adam, who came up against Kyogo during his time with Dundee, told Gambling Zone: “I'm fortunate enough that I managed to play against Kyogo. In terms of what he offers, he has terrific movement and energy, you know he can score a goal.

“If Premier League clubs want to sign him, they’ll have to pay big money for him. Kyogo is clever enough to be able to adapt in the Premier League. What I will say is, it’ll take a lot of money to get him away from Celtic. I’m not sure who’s looking at him but maybe he’s a player Leicester can replace Jamie Vardy with - or even a club like Wolves.”
