Charles De Ketelaere to Leicester City: Leeds United and AC Milan battle as 'offer' made

Leicester City are still waiting for their first signing of the summer transfer window as pre-season is edging closer.

While there has not yet been any concrete movement, it doesn't mean that work isn't being done on deals behind the scenes. There has also been no shortage of links to players in a number of different positions.

One of those links is to Belgian startlet Charles De Ketelaere. The forward has impressed for Club Brugge since breaking into the first team and is now a regular international for Belgium where he plays alongside Youri Tielemans, Timothy Castagne and Dennis Praet.

Brendan Rodgers has spoken about a healthy refresh of his squad over the summer window as City look to complete deals over the next few weeks. De Ketelaere has been linked with a move to City since the January window.

Italian outlet Calciomercato report that the next 10 days will be crucial in deciding the future of De Ketelaere with three teams now in the race to sign him. The report says that the player ‘expects’ a call from his agent to tell him his new club while he enjoys his holiday.

It is added that the player has received ‘offers’ from both City and Leeds United, but is keen to play in the Champions League. AC Milan are reported to have spoken with Club Brugge over a potential deal.

Fellow Premier League side Leeds United are now also in the race for the Belgian. It is said that the Whites are looking at De Ketelaere as a potential replacement for Raphinha who has been linked with Arsenal.
