Channel 4 'in talks' over Scotland matches as UEFA conversation sparked over national team broadcast
Channel 4 are claimed to be in talks with UEFA over broadcasting Scotland national team matches.
Viaplay are the current broadcaster but they are set to pull the plug on their coverage of sport in the UK, which currently includes the League Cup and Steve Clarke's road to Germany in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Fears within the Tartan Army have arisen over a potential blackout but Viaplay have vowed to continue on and advertised upcoming national team matches against Cyprus and Spain during a recent televised cup clash between Motherwell and Queen's Park.
Now radio presenter Ewan Cameron claims that Channel 4 'are in talks with UEFA to strike a deal to show the Scotland games' with 'BBC Scotland also interested.' Fans have had to pay to watch Scotland in action through Sky and Viaplay in recent times, but a move to Channel 4 or the national broadcaster would take the matches back into free-to-air territory.
