Cesc Fabregas tells Manchester United why they should sign Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni

Cesc Fabregas has played with some of the greatest midfielders football has ever produced.

He’s had the pleasure of gracing the field with the likes of Patrick Viera, Iniesta and Xavi, so he knows a good playmaker when he sees one. Manchester United are on the hunt for midfielders this summer.

The club is braced for the exits of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic at the end of the season. Many United supporters are not assured about Fred and Scott McTominay being able to propel the team into title challengers either.

So some are pleased to see their club being linked with Monaco lynchpin Aurelien Tchouameni. A number of other European outfits, including Chelsea and Real Madrid, are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old after an impressive season in France.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly a fan of the youngster and could make him one of his first signings for United. Monaco colleague Fabregas has also given the player his nod of approval.

Last year, as per the Mirror, the 34-year-old said: "He (Tchouameni) has the potential to be the complete midfielder. He's a modern midfield player."

Tchouameni could cost as much as £60m with his contract not expiring until 2024. However, he recently said in a club interview that he is “very happy to be part of this great club.”
