Celtic transfer latest as Vinicius Souza 'reservations' emerge and Benjamin Siegrist deal on the brink

Celtic will have to fend off at least four clubs if they are to land Vinicius Souza, with the Brazilian holding "reservations" about a Parkhead move.

Meanwhile there are also updates on keeper Benjamin Siegrist and left-back Alexandro Bernabei as the transfer window clicks into gear.

Starting on Souza, the powerhouse midfielder has been heavily linked as Ange Postecoglou seeks out some engine-room steel after the departures of Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic.

Plying his trade in Belgium with Lommel, the 22-year-old comes highly-rated and it's understood Club Brugge, Fenerbahce and Bologna are all keen - while PSV are said to have made an approach last week.

With so much interest in his services, Sky Sports report that he has some "reservations" over playing his club football in Scotland.

But Celtic 's automatic qualification for the Champions League carries an obvious lure – and one of which he is aware – and it's believed the midfielder has ruled nothing out.

A backup for Joe Hart is also on the agenda and it seems out-of-contract Siegrist is the man Postecoglou wants.

There has been interest in the former Dundee United stopper from Ipswich and Preston in England.

But the Scottish Sun say Celtic are now clear favourites with their interest more concrete than that from the English Championship sides.

The 30-year-old is seen as a backup and potential eventual replacement to Hart, who turned 35 in April.

And in one of the worst-kept secrets in Argentine football, Lanus left-back Alexandro Bernabei continues to push for an exit and he was left out again for the 2-1 defeat to Atletico Tucuman last night

He had also been left out last weekend with his club saying he had "business" to attend to in Europe.
