Celtic see next Japanese friendly 'revealed' as Mbappe and Ronaldo amongst A list cast heading for Asian retreat

Ange Postecoglou's return to Japan will see Celtic take on Gamba Osaka on July 22nd, it has been claimed.

The Australian is going back to the Land of the Rising Sun on football business for the first time since leaving J League club Yokohama F. Marinos in 2021 for Glasgow, and they are confirmed opponents on July 19th during a pre-season tour of Asia. Celtic will also go to South Korea but Sponichi have 'revealed' that Gamba Osaka – from whom the Premiership champions signed Yosuke Ideguchi – will be a pre-season test on July 22.

It will take place at the Panasonic Stadium and they will be joined in Japan by French giants PSG, Inter Milan and Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr. The Yanmar Stadium Naga will play host to Cerezo Osaka facing Kylian Mbappe and Co on July 28, while the Saudi Arabians who signed Ronaldo earlier this year face Inter three days prior at the same venue.

There's much on the minds of those Celtic before they reach Japan though. They have trophy day this Sunday against Aberdeen before eyeing a treble in the Scottish Cup final against Inverness CT.
