Celtic reject ANOTHER Matt O'Riley transfer bid from Atalanta but sixth offer 'considered' to fill £50m void

Celtic have reportedly knocked back a fifth Atalanta bid for midfielder Matt O'Riley.

The Europa League winners have been focussed on the Danish international throughout the summer window - but so far the Scottish Premiership side have stuck to their valuation with Brighton, Chelsea, Bournemouth and Southampton among the English Premier League sides showing interest in the midfielder. On the continent, Atletico Madrid and Inter have also been taking admiring glances at the 23-year-old in recent months.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Celtic are under no pressure to sell - and the club have doubled down on that message by turfing out another offer from the Serie A side. Sky Italia claim that an offer over £20m is "still considered not enough" to persuade the Hoops to cash-in on their prize asset - but they appear to be undeterred over their pursuit as they look to replace Juventus-bound Teun Koopmeiners.

It is claimed that Atalanta will refuse to green light the £50m sale of the Nertherlands until O'Riley or a suitable replacement has been found - with the fortunes of the duo "closely linked". O'Riley is said to remain the "number one target" for the Italians despite Celtic's firm stance.
