Celtic punters tell Rangers Champions League gloaters they will never shed their WORST ever tag – Hotline

Debate over Celtic’s Champions League performances remains high on the agenda following the 6-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

Naturally, there is plenty of arguing and slagging between rival fans over the loss and the Parkhead side’s group position. But there was also some serious commentary as Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: “It’s plain for everyone to see after another embarrassing night for Celtic they can’t compete at Champions League level, but they still should be doing better. They have to make themselves harder to beat and trying to outplay better teams is never going to work. When Celtic beat Barcelona, it was not by outplaying them but sitting deep, making it hard for them to break us down and hitting them on a break or getting a set piece and causing them problems that way. Gary Burns, Saltcoats, said: “It’s time to take a stand. I was happy when Brendan Rodgers came in, but I'm not so sure now. He is not standing up to the board. We need to sign four new players in January each costing £8million to £10m or just be happy beating our auld enemy.” Gerry Murphy emailed: “I’m tired reading about Celtic and the money they have. It’s time to spend some. What is needed is new owners and a clear out at board level. We seem to be going back to biscuit tin days.”

Rangers fans have been digging out their Celtic counterparts, but Liam Birney, Paisley, said: “There is a saying that people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. So with the outpouring of glee at the Celtic result in Spain, can I remind them that they lost seven goals at home with 11 players on the park and walked away with the title of the worst team ever to take part in
