Sickened Celtic fan explodes with Brendan Rodgers anger in Hotline therapy session as boss branded serial loser

Celtic's Champions League campaign has been scrunched up before the Christmas cards have even popped through the letter box. And the furious Parkhead faithful reckon it’s time Brendan Rodgers was finally allowed to unwrap all the names he’s dotted down on his letter to Santa.

The Hoops boss insists it’s “glaring” Celtic need more quality if they are to compete against the Euro elite after Tuesday's sobering 2-0 defeat to Lazio and the fans on today’s Hotline want the Parkhead board to listen up.

Paul McCormack, Coatbridge, said: “We're not a Champions League-level team. The seeds of this poor campaign were sowed with a dreadful summer window. The manager asked for quality and Luis Palma aside, didn't get it. The board let Brendan down badly and can't do so again in January or we risk blowing the league as well.” Fraser Davison, Glasgow, added: “Same old story yet again in Europe. No focal point up front, no quality, same uninspiring slow play, leaving Kyogo with no chance against three defenders. If only Celtic were as quick with forward passing as they seem to be passing back the way! It’s time for the board to splash the cash and clear out the passengers in the squad, of which there are a few now.”

Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: “Celtic certainly haven’t been the luckiest team in the Champions League, that’s for sure after another big deflection put it on a plate for Ciro Immobile. But again it’s glaringly obvious this current squad is nowhere near good enough for this level and our recent European record is embarrassing.
