Celtic Park set for summer makeover as iconic banners come down with Champions League return on the horizon

Celtic Park looks set to undergo a summer makeover.

An image circulating online shows the club have taken down the iconic banners which traditionally adorn the outside of the stadium in Glasgow's east end.

The artwork documents a row of iconic figures from the club's history under the word 'Paradise', while the other side of the ground carries portraits featuring the likes of legendary manager Willie Maley and club founder Brother Walfrid.

But it now appears the club will look to freshen up the much-loved scene ahead of next season, with an image posted online by a Twitter user showing the walls stripped of the images.

After a Double-winning season, Celtic could look to add a tribute to Ange Postecoglou or even to departed hero Tom Rogic after an emotional end to his Parkhead career.

The Aussie, alongside fellow long-serving midfielder Nir Bitton, brought down the curtain on a trophy-laden Celtic career in May.

In making improvements to the stadium, the club will also likely have an eye on their return to the Champions League group stage later this year.
