Celtic hold no fears for us and we relish the challenge, says Motherwell boss ahead of Fir Park test

Stuart Kettlewell admits Motherwell face a huge challenge against Celtic on Saturday, but says it’s one they must relish.

The Fir Park gaffer insists the visit by Brendan Rodgers’ side holds no fears for the Steelmen, and hopes if they continue their rich vein of form, Motherwell can take some of their chances.

Motherwell have lost 1-0 against Rangers and St Mirren in each of their last two games, but received many plaudits for their performances.

But Kettlewell says it’s about capitalising on opportunities.

He said: “I think we find ourselves in a decent position, going in to play against Celtic.

“In terms of our performance, what we would love to do is try and get that little bit of reward for what we’ve put in.

“As difficult as that will be this Saturday, we relish the challenge, we look forward to it.

“I keep speaking about having no fear and pitting your wits against the absolute best, and over the last few seasons Celtic have shown that they are the best in this country, with the titles they win, the level of consistency.

“I think if we can join in that game and be there towards the dying embers again, it will only make us better.”

Kettlewell added: “I think we’re going to face a team that’s really starting to click into gear.

“There are some new faces in their side, a new manager, but a manager that obviously knows what the club is all about, that knows what it’s like to taste success.

“I expect them to be really getting up into gear, they’ll carry a major threat and will look to come here and dominate the ball, to play the way that they always do.

“That presents a massive challenge, but it’s one that we have to relish, off the back of how we’ve played in the last couple of weeks.
