Celtic fans tell Green Brigade to make Parkhead no-show PERMANENT as Hotline unites in James Forrest stayaway condemnation

For once it's what the Green Brigade didn't do which was the subject of Hotline gripes.

Their no-show for James Forrest's testimonial against Athletic Bilbao didn't go down well and many callers believe the long serving winger deserved more respect. Jimmy Murray, Edinburgh, said: "It was great to see the famous Green Brigade not at Parkhead on Tuesday. Maybe they had a picket line to join or a pro Palestinian rally to attend, or a Neil Lennon lecture. Now, if Rangers could get rid of their Union Bears fans we could go to games and not have to listen to the poisonous bile these lot come out with, singing about hundreds of years old history and actually enjoy the game."

James Logan, Glasgow, said: "Congratulations to Forrest on his well-deserved testimonial match. He is truly a legend and how refreshing not to have to put up with the arrogant and entitled Green Brigade. Their offensive banners and dangerous flares should have no place at Celtic Park." George McCallum, Falkirk, said: "The absence of the Green Brigade is not a big deal, if they stayed away for good it would be seen as a success, they have only got Celtic fined heavily in the past, we need supporters not fanatics."
