Celebrating Sir Alex Ferguson's first Premier League title at Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson is Manchester United's greatest manager.

During his time at Old Trafford the Scot won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups, the Community Shield 10 times, the European Cup Winners' Cup, the European Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and - of course - two Champions League titles, including the historic Treble in 1999.

And that unprecedented success started 30 years ago this year when Fergie led United to their first title in 26 years when they won the Premier League in what was a dramatic 1992/93 campaign.

Having gone so close 12 months earlier only to be pipped at the post by Leeds United, the Reds - inspired by the mid-season signing of a certain Eric Cantona - saw off the challenge of Aston Villa to be crowned champions of England.

And to mark the occasion, the Manchester Evening News have produced Fergie's First, a special edition charting that stunning campaign.

We look back at the historic season, the players who made it possible, THAT dramatic Sheffield Wednesday game at Old Trafford which saw the birth of Fergie Time after Steve Bruce's two late goals, and the celebrations that followed Premier League glory.

The souvenir publication also looks at what made Fergie the man, and the manager.

And as Erik ten Hag begins his job of taking United back to the levels Ferguson reached, we take a look at how that season kick-started the Reds' 20-year dominance of English football - including the Treble and 2008 Champions League success.
